We have had a visit by the hotel authorities. After an inspection of our premesis, we were upgraded to a star status. We are now considered a 1 star hotel, and with it will come some fee increases I am sure.

Owen and Mai will be returning to Canada from May 25 until June 12. Our staff have basic English abilities, but they are young and still learning. I will be in contact every day, so please be patient. They will do their very best to help, and I will try to be a phonecall away.

We are excited to see that there is a couple of western businesses that are following us into this area. Soon to be open is a western BBQ along with a bar that is opening a 2nd location. Yum Yum

Warning!! When you arrive at the airport, train station, or the bus drop off spots, you will be met by taxi's and other people who want your business. Please keep in mind that many have mad deals with hotels and will get a comission for bringing you there. We have been told by customers that some drivers were trying to talk them out of staying with us for various reasons, and going to a different place that they could personally recommend. Do not let them trick you.

Like any new business, we are experiencing growing pains. Some of the local tour providers will not travel the short distance to pick up our guests for their booked tours. Instead they are being told that it is too far, and the guest has to come to their office. We are talking about 1.5 kilometers on the beach front. Many companies learning that there are now more and more foreigners staying in this area are willing to offer pick up service, however, there is still a few old thinking people that feel 1.5 kilometers is just too far. We are finding very good and reliable tour companies for my guests pleasure, but it will take a little time to find which are good and which are bad. Part of the growing process.
